KBS' family drama "Smile Again" came atop weekly TV charts once again, according to surveys by both Total National Multimedia National Research (TNmS) and AGB Nielsen Media Research (AGB) on Monday.
KBS' "Smile Again" reported its third consecutive win on weekly TV charts after scoring an average viewership rating of 33.1 percent on TNmS' chart and 34.1 percent on AGB's poll, the figures about a two-percent improvement from the previous week.
"Smile Again," a daily drama starring Ji Chang-wook, Do Ji-won and Oh Ji-eun, is about the life and love of cook-turned-short track speed skater Dong-hae who struggles to make ends meet while trying to protect his mentally challenged.
Last week's episodes featured Dong-hae's hidden father injured seriously from a car accident, casting another cloud to Dong-hae's learning the secret to his birth.
SBS' weekend series "Secret Garden," which ended its run yesterday, posted an average rating of 30.3 percent on TNmS' poll and 34.1 percent on AGB's survey, staying at No. 2 for a second week in-a-row.
The drama starring Hyun Bin and Ha Ji-won, was about two people in love switching souls due to a supernatural intervention.
The show saw a happy ending in the finale episode yesterday with Hyun Bin and Ha Ji-won's character marrying and with three children.
Coming in at third place was weekend variety program "Happy Sunday" which scored a viewership rating of 23.5 percent on TNmS' chart and 25.1 percent on AGB's chart, taking third place for the third week straight.
Meanwhile, the South Korea versus Australia soccer match for the 2011 Asian Cup in Qatar went on air on Friday, placing fourth on both surveys with average ratings of 23.5 percent on TNmS' chart and 24.7 percent on AGB's chart.
Other programs that made the top 10 of TNmS' list were KBS' "My Love My Family" on fifth place followed by "KBS 9'clock News," MBC's "World Changing Quiz," KBS' "Infinite Challenge," "MBC's "My Princess" and KBS' "Gag Concert."
AGB too showed the same ranking as TNmS from No. 1 to 5 while placing MBC's "My Princess" in sixth, followed by MBC's "World Changing Quiz," "KBS 9 o'clock News," KBS' "Infinite Challenge," and SBS' "Amazing People Caught on Camera."
