Pop idol group SHINee's latest album is selling fast, according to their agency, who has announced that over 100,000 copies of the boys' second full-length studio release have been sold since going on sale two weeks ago.
A press release from SM on Friday stated that about 28,000 online copies and over 80,000 offline copies of "LUCIFER" have been purchased by fans, bringing the sales total to over 108,000 after its July 19 release.
With the album having topped the album sales charts of record retailers Hanteo and Hot Tracks for two weeks straight, the five-member group may also be headed to breaking their own sales record of 113,690 set by their first full-length album from 2008.
So far, SHINee ranks at No. 3 in terms of album sales in 2010 on Hanteo's chart, trailing behind Super Junior and Girls' Generation who stand at first and second place, respectively.
Five-member boy band SHINee, who was discovered and trained by SM Entertainment in 2008, has been promoting their latest record and title track which has fared well on numerous online music charts as well as televised music shows.
The group will be joining fellow labelmates including BoA, Girls' Generation, Super Junior, Kangta, U-Know Yunho, Max Changmin, f(x) and TRAX for "SMTOWN LIVE '10 World Tour in Seoul" in mid-August.
